And if you make things too, we’ll get along just fine. WORK
provides creative services for creative people. We LOVE what we
do and we LOVE what our clients do. It's a small business, supporting
small business type-of-a-thing...
Since
2003, we've been creating websites, logos, merchandise, posters,
and all mannor of other items for the wonderfully diverse creative
world of South Louisana. Over the years, our client base has expanded
to include folks all over the southeast, and exotic locales such
as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles & Austin.
Oh, and we’re
affordable. We welcome artists, musicians, filmmakers, readers,
writers, lovers, actors, dreamers, drifters, gypsies, mothers,
and dog lovers. Our strength is in your ideas.

We are homegrown designers,
literally. As children, Bram and Jillian spent afternoons toying
around on thier father's Macintosh™ Performa 400 in the
early days of Adobe™ Photoshop & Illustrator. We know
it sounds nerdy, but we did all of the usual kid stuff too. It's
normal to spend your Sunday afternoons watching Time Bandits
and The Last Waltz, right?

In 2002, Jillian made
up business cards stating “WORK by Jillian Johnson”,
as she’d been approached by a number of folks for odd creative
jobs from promotional photography for local bands, to custom ceramic
dishes and various graphic design projects. She felt she was onto
something, but she wasn’t quite sure what would shake out.
A few years later, in an effort to make things look more official,
WORK agencies was branded; a generic name, for a business that
is anything but.

After
moving back to her homeland of Lafayette, Louisiana from Nashville,
Jillian started WORK agencies in 2003 as a way to avoid actually
"working" when she was completing her college studies
in Ceramics. Her work as a photographer of live music performances
in Lafayette eventually led to graphic & web design projects,
music booking for touring bands and the many other creative services
that WORK provides today. Jillian is a paculiar young woman whos
hobbies include plants, sewing, making things, enthusiasm &
obviously, the color brown. You should also know that she loves
blackberries, white chocolate, and playing ukulele in the all-gal
supergroup, The
Figs.

In 2005, brother Bram
made the move from Nashville to Lafayette to join sister Jillian
in her quest for remaining jobless. Bram is the notably "normal"
sibling. However, he is very tall, colorblind, and can juggle, sort
of. Bram enjoys playing billiards, quoting movies with Jillian and
making homemade popcorn over an open flame, which is ironic, because
he is a Scorpio. He specializes of late in poster design for several
Lafayette music venues. Bram is also
a talented illustrator working regularly with local newpapers on
cover art, and with several WORK clients on websites, logos, and
merchandise items. |
